Choosing a skip bin in the right size for your needs can be overwhelming and confusing if you don’t know where to start, what goes into a skip bin or how much waste you plan on removing. You don’t want to accidentally purchase a skip that is either too small or too big. Learning how to choose a skip bin hire company is important in this process as well. At Angel Waste, we have a range of skip bins to choose from for either residential or commercial clients within the Australian Capital Territory and Queanbeyan Region. We offer skip bin hire for general waste and green waste for your convenience. So, what is your ideal size of a skip bin based on your waste? We have a quick trick on how to determine what size you will require per cubic metre.

Skip bin hire options
2m³ skip bins
Our 2m³ sized skip bins are the smallest skip bin we hire out. They can hold up to 300kg, which is the equivalent of 8 wheelie bins or two trips to your local resource management centre (the tip) with a standard sized trailer (6x4m) that is not overflowing.
3m³ skip bins
The next size up from the 2m³ bin is the 3m³ skip bin size. This bin can hold up to 450kg, which is the equivalent of 12 wheelie bins or three trips to your local resource management centre with a 6x4m trailer load that is not overflowing.
4m³ skip bins
Another one of our skip bin options is our 4m³ skip bin. Holding up to 600kg, this is the same amount as four trips to the local resource management centre with a standard sized trailer or 16 wheelie bins full.
6m³ skip bins
The next size up from the 4m³ is the 6m³ skip bin. It can hold up to 900kg which is the same as 24 full wheelie bins or six trips to your local resource management centre with a standard 6×4 sized trailer load.

Other questions about skip bin hire
- Each skip bin will have a weight limit that must be adhered to. If you have heavy waste and the weight is exceeded, this will affect how the skip bin is collected and extra fees may apply.
- Angel Waste is available for skip bin hire to remove your general waste and green waste for either 3 days or 7 days at a time.
- There is a specific way on how to load your skip bin. A skip bin can be filled to the top of the skip bin but needs to remain level and the contents can not exceed the top of the skip. Additional fees will be charged if the driver cannot level the skip upon collection.
